Watched The Departed last night. Suprisingly, Leo did not irritate me. In fact, I really liked his performance and there was enough tension to keep me interested. Mark Wahlberg, who I love despite his monotonous deliveries, had some scene stealers too. Yeah, definitely enjoyed The Departed.

This week, the new restaurant was The Counter, a burger place in Santa Monica where you build your own burger. Wes had eaten there once but me, Crystal, and Andrew had never been so we figured 3 out of 4 people wasn't so bad.

My Burger:
1/3 lb meat, Gruyere, sprouts, tomatoes, roasted red bellpeppers,
mixed greens, roasted garlic aioli sauce, guacamole,
on a honey wheat bun,
washed down with french fries and a Hefeweizen

Andrew's Burger:
2/3 lb meat, grilled onions, mixed greens, roasted garlic ailoi sauce,
guacamole, on a honey wheat bun

Wes's Burger:
1/3 turkey, sun dried tomatoes, grilled onions x2, mixed greens,
horseradish cheedar, jalepenos, spicy sour cream on a honey wheat bun

Crystal's Burger:
Note the height of the burger compared to the Eucerin cream.
2/3 lb meat, avocado, sprouts, grilled onions, pepperoncinis,
roasted garlic sauce, imported swiss cheese on a white bun

Everyone but me partook in an order of sweet potato fries and onion strings.

The Counter Rating:
3.5 out of 5 berries

This was last week at King's Hawaiian Restaurant out in Torrance.
Not an official restaurant because it was just me and Crystal and
Crystal has been before but it deserves a mention on the blog
because it was hella good. These are Crystal's spam wasubis.

This is my King's Plate with beef, pork, salmon, and chicken.
I also had the crab and artichoke dip but accidentally
erased the picture. Oh, and they also served warm Hawaiian
sweet bread. Delicious!

  • you have to see 'infernal affairs,' the hong kong movie that the departed has totally ripped off and not even given credit too....
